Dear reader,
Over the past year, we read, watched, and discussed Indigenous stories. Some were beautiful, speaking of hope, resilience, and the strength of people holding onto who they are. Others were deeply painful, bearing witness to centuries of land dispossession, residential schools, racism, and violence.
As high school students, we are still learning how to approach these stories with honesty and care. This magazine is our attempt to listen more closely, think more critically, and reflect on what it means to live in a country shaped by these stories.
We hope this magazine invites you to question the stories Canada tells about itself, to recognize that reconciliation belongs not only to governments or textbooks, but also to ordinary people and everyday choices, and most of all, to keep listening.
Thank you for reading.
